What is FASILIS good for?
FASILIS is a transnational project of six Life Science Clusters in Europe. The goal is to share expertise for innovations in human health (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical technology). Small and medium sized companies (SMEs) will get the opportunity to access a wider range of research facilities than available at the regional level. SMEs can apply for a voucher to access a facility in one of the other partner regions.

What is the voucher worth?
A voucher is a cheque worth €6000 which is distributed by the FASILIS partnership to a selected SME. The SME can use this voucher to buy an innovation service from a facility provider in one of the other Fasilis partner regions. The vouchers will cover 100% of the costs of the service provided by the facility. The funded value is limited to €6000. If the costs of the service exceed €6000 it is possible to combine with additional budgets. Each region will distribute 15 vouchers (BioLogue 7 vouchers).

Who can apply for a voucher?
Every SME or a start-up company based in one of the regions may participate, that is not in receivership or under liquidation at the time of receiving the award.

Who are the facility providers?
The facility provider must be located within the participating regions, but not in the same region as the recipient (SME).
Any university, hospital (R&D), public or private research centre or company included in the online catalogue of approved FASILIS providers. It is also possible to suggest a facility to the FASILIS team.

Where can I find information about the participating facilities?
We compiled an online catalogue with details of the participating facilities. If you don’t find any suitable facility in another region, or if you want to add a facility yourself, please contact your contact person. If the Regional Contact Points approve the proposed facility, it will be added to the catalogue.

How can I get in touch with a facilities?
At the matchmaking events, selected facilities will present their offer. You will also have the opportunity to speak with the regional contact points.

For what can I use a Voucher?
The voucher buys you an innovation service from a facility provider in one of the FASILIS partner regions. The innovation service should be related to human health (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical technology).
The service could include:
o    Access to equipment, analytical services, research projects, clinical trials, product design / prototype manufacture, technical training
o    Consultancy for transfer of technical knowledge or know-how.

Vouchers should not be used as a discount on previously agreed projects or for general business consultancy, marketing or other routine activities.

The application form will be included in the 2nd Call for Applications which will be available on the website from May 27, 2010 onwards.
