German SMEs rewarded with FASILIS vouchers

Two of the German SMEs which applied for a FASILIS voucher, received a symbolic* FASILIS voucher last week. Both companies will apply the voucher in one of their innovation projects: Epikurion is a company working with ancient recipes from plant or other natural sources with healing properties. Epikurion combines modern biotechnological methods like isolation procedures and bioanalytics with markets for cosmetics. Its goal in FASILIS is to establish a method using the knowledge of Encapson (a facility in East Netherlands) to encapsulate natural oil products, based on different biocompatible polymers.

Synovo is a company providing services in the field of pharmaceutical developments like medicinal chemistry and drug discovery support. Its goal in FASILIS is to establish a pharmacologically suitable test system with the University of Portsmouth (in South-East England). This includes the incubation of the test substances with biopsies and the determination of pre-clinical relevant parameters like cytokines.
